Multiple Berths at Shanghai Port Suspend Container Pickup and Delivery Operations
According to China Maritime Service Network (CNSS), affected by Typhoon No. 18 "Shadel," Shanghai International Port (Group) Company has announced the suspension of container operations at multiple berths. Empty container pickup and delivery at the Yangshan Port Area (Shengdong, Guandong, and Shangdong terminals) will be suspended from 04:00 on August 27, 2026, while heavy container operations will be halted from 06:00 on the same day. At the Waigaoqiao Port Area (Pudong, Zhendong, Hudong, and Mingdong terminals) and the domestic trade port area (Yidong and Luodong terminals), empty container pickup and delivery will be suspended from 14:00 on August 27.

The National Meteorological Center continued to issue an Orange Typhoon Warning at 10:00 on August 27:
As of 9:00 a.m. on the 27th, the center of Typhoon No. 18 "Shadel" was located approximately 335 km east-southeast of Wenling, Zhejiang, over the sea at 28.6°N, 124.8°E. The maximum wind speed near the center reached Force 13 (40 m/s), with a minimum central pressure of 960 hPa. The radius of the Force 7 wind circle was 350–400 km, the Force 10 wind circle was 120–150 km, and the Force 12 wind circle was 50–60 km.

"Shadel" is expected to move west-southwest at a speed of 10–15 km per hour with little change in intensity. It is forecast to make landfall along the coast between Sanmen, Zhejiang, and Xiapu, Fujian, between the early morning and noon of August 28, with wind speeds of 33–42 m/s (Force 12–14, typhoon or severe typhoon level). After landfall, its intensity will gradually weaken.
Meteorological experts noted that after its formation, "Shadel" had been moving steadily northwestward. However, an unusual track shift occurred in the early hours of the 27th, when it turned southwestward — a relatively rare change in trajectory.
