Recently, Hengli Heavy Industry successively signed and finalized construction contracts for six very large ammonia carriers (VLACs) with three internationally renowned shipowners within a single week. The order comprises four 93,000 cbm vessels and two 88,000 cbm vessels, marking another milestone breakthrough for Hengli Heavy Industry in the high-value-added gas carrier sector.

Hengli Heavy Industry has already achieved a critical breakthrough in VLAC construction. On June 23 this year, the company's first 93,000 cbm VLAC was successfully launched, becoming the world's first VLAC built on a slipway and launched, breaking the long-established industry convention that "large gas carriers must be built in docks." The vessel features independently produced cargo tanks and is equipped with Hengli Heavy Industry's self-developed LPG dual-fuel engine, achieving self-sufficiency in core systems from cargo containment to propulsion. This gives the company distinct competitive advantages in delivery lead times and construction costs.

This centralized contract signing is not just an increase in order volume; it also signifies a strategic breakthrough for Hengli Heavy Industry in high-value-added vessel types. The company's order book is rapidly shifting from traditional container, bulk, and tanker vessels toward gas carriers and other high-value-added segments, and its gas carrier fleet development has officially entered a new phase of large-scale growth.
