Recently, the vessel “Ocean Treasure” arrived at the Penglai Port Area of Yantai Port, Shandong Port. After loading 333 engineering vehicles, it set sail for Senegal. Relying on the new Penglai–Senegal general cargo corridor, Yantai Port has continued to scale up engineering equipment loading operations, further strengthening the cargo source matrix of its general cargo routes to West Africa and helping “Made in China” sail overseas.

As a general cargo base of Shandong Port and a general cargo logistics hub port in northern China, Yantai Port is anchored to its core positioning as “a globally oriented general cargo logistics hub port.” It leverages its advantages in “specialized equipment, specialized processes, specialized teams, and specialized services” to continuously build platforms, expand cargo sources, and smooth channels, thereby densifying the supply chain network from the domestic manufacturing end to the overseas demand end.

During business expansion, Penglai Port Company of Yantai Port worked in concert with engineering equipment manufacturers, port inspection and clearance agencies, and shipping companies to effectively connect equipment manufacturing, end-to-end multimodal transport, port transshipment, and other links, building a one-stop logistics solution covering “cargo consolidation, port storage, short-haul transfer operations, inspection and customs declaration, lifting and stowage, loading and shipment, and vessel berthing and unberthing.” This solution moves construction machinery from production bases to the wharf front and directly to overseas markets, achieving seamless connection across the entire chain. This model not only continuously enriches the overseas pathways for Chinese equipment, but also effectively shortens vessels’ port stay, reduces customers’ overall logistics costs, and enhances the stability and service efficiency of cross-border supply chains.

Before the vessel “Ocean Treasure” arrived at port, Penglai Port Company planned ahead and intervened in advance, coordinating yard resources and cargo collection channels and reserving sufficient storage and short-haul transfer operation space for the 333 engineering vehicles. During operations, with the support of port authorities such as Penglai Customs, maritime authorities, and border inspection, the company carried out precise coordination and scientific scheduling, established a special working group for ship loading and stowage, formulated a “one vessel, one plan” operation plan, scientifically allocated production resources, and continuously optimized cargo collection and loading processes. This loading operation delivered impressive figures: day-and-night operating efficiency reached 9,729 cubic meters; a single operating line loaded 3,243 cubic meters per day and night; and hatch-hour productivity reached 147 cubic meters per hour. Overall operating efficiency and hatch-hour productivity increased significantly, setting a new high for loading efficiency for similar engineering machinery operations in the port area.
