New Shipowner Emerges! Taizhou Jianxing Heavy Industry Secures Tanker Order
On June 8, 2026, Tianjin Minhui Shipping and Tianjin Aframax Shipping—both wholly-owned subsidiaries of Pingtan Minghui Shipping—held a formal signing ceremony with Taizhou Jianxing Heavy Industry in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, to finalize construction contracts for two 114,000 DWT LR2 tankers.

According to reports, the contracted LR2 tankers will have an overall length of 248.8 meters and a design draft of 13.5 meters. Upon completion, they are intended to fly the Liberian flag. The first vessel is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2028, with the second expected by the end of 2028.
Tianjin Aframax Shipping was established on May 15, 2026, with a registered capital of RMB 10 million. Both Tianjin Minhui Shipping and Tianjin Aframax Shipping are wholly-owned by Pingtan Minghui Shipping. The signing of these two LR2 tanker newbuildings represents a significant step toward optimizing fleet composition, expanding overall capacity, and extending the company's reach into international routes.
